Hey we have had a great week with our new recording studio being built and our upcoming reality show about to air! I am really excited about helping these 6 artists gain an audience and large fan base. These are great talents so please stay tuned for the upcoming adventure. We have also hired a fantastic new producer who graduated from a New York Performing Arts School. He has played at Carnegie Hall, and worked with such great artists as Alecia Keys, Teairra Mari, 50 cent, Lil’ Wayne, Kelly Rowland, Fabolous and has produced national commercial spots for Sprint, Crest, Wendy’s, Tanqueray, 2007 Escalade commercial for the superbowl, and more. With his knowledge of production for latin, R&B, hip hop, jazz, and pop music, we welcome Flaco to our music production staff!!
Hey! I am often asked how a singer can best produce an EP or a demo. WE have found with any artist to only produce 3 songs at a time. Because we work with new artists, one must be really careful of not blowing your entire budget before you know exactly what flavor your songs should be. It takes trial and error before you discover the real you. When you are in college, you have mock trials, mock debates, football “practices”, tests, and many other commitments that allow you to prepare for when you get out and get a real job. In our music world we have lessons and gigs, but no practices for your first recording. You just have to do it….but with the onset of the one time download for a single, it is really dumb dumb dumb to record more than three songs when you are not really sure what you are doing……
So why record three songs? Well. It is cheaper ….you are hiring the drummer, guitarist and bassist for the day anyway. You might as well get three songs out of it…It will be about the same price! Any questions just email me at Linda@theseptiengroup.com.
